What are cookies?

Cookies are small temporary text files that are saved on your computer or mobile device to ensure the proper functioning of the website and which contain information about the websites you have visited. Cookies make using the Internet easier for the user – for example, when logging into your user profile on a website, the browser suggests your username, but cookies are also used for other purposes, such as allowing website owners to obtain more information about the interests of their website visitors.

How do we use cookies?

MetPro uses Google Analytics services to make information about services available on the web. This service provides for cookies to be saved on your device.

A cookie stores information that our website was visited, when it happened, it remembers the user’s IP address, and which sections of the website were viewed. This information is transferred to Google Inc. (Ireland) and is stored on Google servers (in the European Union and the USA) for 60 days. Before data is transferred to Google, IP addresses are anonymized by replacing them with a specific code assigned to each individual user.

Google itself confirms that the processing of the data, including the transfer of data to third parties, complies with the requirements of European Union and US regulations, and also specifically notes that the received data is not used to provide Google services.

You can prevent cookies from being sent to Google by using the “Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on”
(see Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on).

How to control cookies?

You can delete cookies from your computer or other device, as well as use the settings offered by most browsers to prevent cookies from being created.

Virtually all browsers provide the option to:

  • View saved cookies and delete them;
  • Block third-party cookies;
  • Block cookies for marketing websites;
  • Block any cookies from being created;
  • Delete all cookies when exiting the browser.

Remember that if you delete all cookies, your settings on individual websites will also be deleted. Additionally, please note that if you block any cookies from being created, many websites (including ours) may start to work incorrectly and the provision of services may be interrupted, so we do not recommend choosing the option to block all cookies.
